About this winery
The name De Wetshof has been synonymous with the production of fine wines in South Africa since the 1970’s. Production notes
Grown in Robertson Valley’s limestone-clay soils, this 100 % Chardonnay is barrel-fermented in second- and third-fill French oak and aged for ten months with weekly lees stirring to build texture while preserving bright fruit characteristics
Tasting notes
It shows a pale-gold hue with a lively nose of green apple, lemon, and melon, layered with notes of hazelnut, honey, and gunflint. On the palate, the wine displays crisp acidity, creamy weight, ripe orchard fruit, fine spice, and a long, elegant saline finish
