About this winery

Independent owner-winemaker since 1825 in Villié Morgon, in the Beaujolais Crus, and established on 12 hectares of vines on the most prestigious crus of the region: Morgon, Fleurie, Chiroubles, Saint-Amour, Moulin à Vent or Beaujolais villages, the Domaine Aucœur is the oldest family business in Villié Morgon. Product notes

This wine artfully balances power and elegance, capturing the essence of old-vine Gamay. It’s enjoyable with light decanting now, but can age gracefully for 4 to 6 years or more.

Production notes

Made from hand-harvested Gamay vines averaging 60 years old on granite-manganese soils, this wine undergoes classic Beaujolais vinification with semi-carbonic maceration and careful pigeage. Aging takes place in tanks or demi-muids depending on the vintage.

Tasting notes

It shows a deep, purplish-red color. The nose reveals black cherry, blackberry, violet and subtle spice aromas. The palate is round and dense, supported by silky tannins and vibrant freshness, finishing long with pure dark fruit and fine minerality.
