About this winery

The Lyrarakis Estate is a family winery which has been producing high quality wines since 1966 with a strong focus on rare local varieties and producing single variety wines. The family is credited with the revival of two ancient Cretan varieties, Dafni and Plyto while a third “vineyard treasure”, the indigenous Melissaki, was recently added to the credits. Product notes

Manual harvesting. Fermentation with maceration on the skins for 10 days, to extract the polyphenols, with 'délastage'. Fermentation at controlled temperature between 24 and 27 degrees. Inoculation with selected yeasts. Intense and aromatic nose with notes of red fruits (raspberry and cherry). Elegant and supple palate with fruity tannins. The finish is pleasant, tasty, fresh with fruity and spicy aromatic return.

Tasting notes

Light ruby color with garnet nuances. Intense and aromatic nose with notes of red fruits such as raspberry and cherry. The palate is elegant and supple, slightly structured with noble fruit tannins. The finish is pleasant, tasty, fresh and with a fruity and subtly spicy aromatic return.
