About this winery

Tradition is the precondition for creating a new vision and this is particularly true with wine. The very place in which wine is made is often the bridge between the past and the future. The JURIS winery is located in the city of Gols, a place where wine has been the primary source of living ever since the great folk migrations between the fourth and sixth centuries. The name JURIS comes from the first name Georg which has belonged to many generations of Stiegelmar men.

Product notes

Dark color with violet reflections. The nose recalls vibrant smells of morello cherry and plum. The palate highlights its typical varietal character with supple, well-integrated tannins and a long finish revealing notes of fine pepper and even sweet spices.

Production notes

The Gols wine region is located in the Burgenland wine region between Vienna and Budapest in the warm Pannonian climate with permeable soils of gravel and sand. The geological conditions in the region allow many of the grape varieties grown in Austria to be planted in our vineyards. The St. Laurent grape variety of the genus Vitis and the species Vinifera is commonly grown in Germany, Austria and some other Eastern European countries. It is known for producing colorful, fruity, spicy and tender wines.
