About this winery

We vibrate to the rhythm of the Art de Vivre of the South West. Product notes

This emblematic brand is a tribute to the legendary Romanesque church of Cocumont, built by Benedictine monks in the 11th century. Today, the church is listed but abandoned. Its only key has been entrusted to the Cave, a sign of the commitment of our winegrowers to its preservation. In fact, the Cave du Marmandais was built just a few yards from the church, making it an integral part of the local winegrowing landscape. The church reminds us all of the long history of the Côtes du Marmandais vineyards. This Réserve is the result of a quality plot selection. Deep garnet-red in color, this reserve reveals a nose of black fruit nuanced by toasty, spicy notes. Rich, round and opulent on the palate, with dense, elegant tannins.

La Vieille Église, issu de l'appellation Côtes du Marmandais AOP, est une marque produite par la Cave du Marmandais, une coopérative née en 2003 de la fusion de la cave de Beaupuy et de celle de Cocumont. Au nez, ce vin rouge dévoile un bouquet invitant : des arômes de fruits noirs bien mûrs, de pruneau et de cassis, relevés par une note épicée, légèrement poivrée. À l’aération, des nuances de sous-bois et de cuir apparaissent, conférant à l’ensemble une certaine complexité. En bouche, l’attaque est souple, marquée par des tanins soyeux qui enveloppent le palais avec élégance. Les fruits noirs s’expriment à nouveau, accompagnés cette fois d’une touche de réglisse et de chocolat noir. L’équilibre est réussi entre fraîcheur et puissance, et la finale s’étire sur des notes légèrement grillées. Tout indiqué pour combler les besoins du quotidien.

Servir à 17 °C. S'accordera avec le confit de canard, les côtes de veau, la lasagne, la pintade rôtie, le rôti de boeuf, les burgers, les sandwichs au steak, la tourtière, ou avec le pain de viande.
