Domaine Brusset
Domaine Brusset Gigondas Les Hauts de Montmirail
2017
About this winery
In this family estate, since 1947, the Brusset family has been able to combine know-how with the new techniques brought by each generation. André Brusset (1910-1999), founder of the estate, passed on his passion to his son Daniel and his grandson Laurent. Two enthusiasts, two experiences that make the Brusset estate a rare place where the complementarity of two generations gives the best results, in the respect of traditions.

Product notes
Depending on the vintage, it consistently scores between 93 and 96 points from top critics like Jeb Dunnuck and Robert Parker, praised for its powerful yet balanced and refined profile.
Production notes
This wine is made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre planted on south-facing clay-limestone slopes with very low yields to ensure maximum aromatic concentration. Hand-harvested grapes are carefully sorted, destemmed, and undergo a cold soak. Each parcel is vinified separately for around 30 days with frequent punch-downs, and part of the wine is aged in new French oak barrels to bring structure and layered complexity.
Tasting notes
On the palate, this Gigondas opens with a generous attack, silky texture and firm yet integrated tannins. The nose is expressive, with ripe black fruits, licorice, floral hints and spice, all leading to a long finish touched by cocoa, leather and a fresh minerality that elevates its elegance.
