Domaine Brusset
Domaine Brusset Gigondas Les Secrets de Montmirail
2018
About this winery
In this family estate, since 1947, the Brusset family has been able to combine know-how with the new techniques brought by each generation. André Brusset (1910-1999), founder of the estate, passed on his passion to his son Daniel and his grandson Laurent. Two enthusiasts, two experiences that make the Brusset estate a rare place where the complementarity of two generations gives the best results, in the respect of traditions.

Product notes
The 2022 vintage earned 2 stars from the Hachette Guide (remarkable wine) for its finesse, depth and saline finish.Critics like Jeb Dunnuck award it between 92–96 points (95 pts for 2020, 91–94 pts for 2015 per Parker)
Production notes
This cuvée combines Grenache and Syrah grown on three clay-limestone terraced vineyards beneath the Jurassic ridge of the Dentelles de Montmirail, with low yields (~20 hl/ha). Hand-harvested and sorted, the grapes undergo traditional fermentation with destemming, punch-downs and a long cold soak at 26 °C without added yeasts. Maturation is split 30 % in oak barrels and 70 % in concrete vats, preserving the wine’s freshness and fruit purity
Tasting notes
The bouquet is expressive and layered, revealing ripe dark fruit, mineral tones, rosemary and wild herbs. On the palate, it’s powerful yet fresh, with fine-grained tannins, ample body and persistent flavors of blackberry, blueberry and a subtly sweet finish .
