About this winery
The Lavau family and its love of wine, its passion for the land and the soil began in Saint Emilion in the 19th century. Product notes
This Rasteau offers bold Mediterranean flavour balanced by lift and finesse. Ready to enjoy now yet age-capable, it pairs well with grilled red meats, roasted lamb or game dishes. A confident yet approachable wine that embodies the soul of the southern Rhône region
Production notes
Domaine Les Évigneaux spreads over about 10 hectares in Rasteau, Southern Rhône, and has been owned by Maison Lavau since 2014. This red wine is created from a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault, each vinified to capture the diversity of soils—pebbles, clay, red marl—and maximize complexity. After cold pre-fermentation maceration and extended skin contact, the wine is aged roughly one year in new French oak barrels and sometimes amphorae to build refined structure without overshadowing fruit purity
Tasting notes
It pours a deep, intense ruby. The nose is expressive with blackcurrant and blackberry aromas, accented by spicy, smoky notes and a whisper of Provençal garrigue. On the palate it is rich and robust, with succulent fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a long finish supported by integrated mineral freshness
