Product notes
Qvinto Arrio was a Roman praetor who lived around 72 BC, supposedly born in Calagurris, the ancient Calahorra where the estate and part of the vineyards are located - hence the name of the wine. An honest wine, a faithful reflection of the land where it is produced, just like the character of Qvinto Arrio in fiction (by Lewis Wallace), honest and faithful to those who helped him and his family.
Production notes
After destalking, the grapes are submitted to a light pressing producing an alcoholic fermentation on its own yeast in stainless steel tanks for 8-10 days, followed by maceration for a period of two weeks. Next, a light pressing extracts the yolk solely. The wine obtained has been aged during twelve months in French and American oak barrels, transferred twice.
Tasting notes
Bright cherry-red color. Nose: ripe fruit and cherries combined with a touch of toasty smoke. On the palate: beautiful concentration of fruit and a fine finish with soft, pleasant tannins. This wine pairs well with Mediterranean cuisine. Ideal with roast lamb and beef, as well as all types of cheese (long-aged). Oxygenate before drinking.
