About this winery
The southern vineyards of Cellier des Dauphins stretch from the southeast of the Rhone Valley to the foot of Mont Ventoux. On these sun-drenched terroirs, cradled by the Mistral wind, are cultivated the king grape varieties of the Côtes du Rhône such as Syrah, Grenache, Viognier and many others typical of the region. Production notes
Hand harvested grapes are rigorously sorted and placed in concrete tanks for traditional vinification (pumping over and punching down) under controlled temperature conditions. After a maceration period on skins of up to 3 weeks, one part of the blend goes into new and 1-year-old oak barrels for 12 months, whilst the other part is matured in tank
Tasting notes
Grapes from a plot scattered around the village of Chateauneuf. Very clear, dark red. Elegant nose of fresh fruit, spices and vanilla. Rich with fruit, spice, vanilla and tannin. An elegant and mellow wine reflecting perfectly the complex terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
