About this winery

As a child and young teenager the fields and lanes of the family estate, Casale del Giglio, were nothing more to Antonio Santarelli than a place where he could spend carefree weekends; but all changed when he joined his father Dino in the family business. By then, he knew instinctively that their unconventional land in the Agro Pontino valley, some 50 kms south of Rome, offered a unique opportunity to attempt something no-one had ever attempted.

Product notes

The two-phase vinification process begins with maceration on the skins to favor the extraction of the aromas that release all the pedoclimatic characteristics of the Anzio territory. After a delicate pressing, the spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place over 10-12 days at a temperature of 18-20°C. Scents of ripe exotic fruits (mango, papaya) + a strong acidity (suitable for long maturation in the bottle).

Production notes

Tasting notes

Intense yellow color with golden reflections. It is a sunny wine with scents of ripe exotic fruits, such as mango and papaya, contrasted by a strong acidity that makes it suitable for long maturation in bottle. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich and persistent with light floral and spicy touches. It is distinguished by its sapidity and minerality and offers a long and persistent return.
