Product notes
For hundreds of years, Italy's finest wines have been aged in large tuns rather than small oak barrels. This traditional art of winemaking ensures a slow micro-oxygenation of the wine. The wine has a deep garnet color. The nose opens with aromas of dark chocolate, spices and cherry jam. The palate is balanced and structured with a persistent chocolate finish.
Production notes
Lignum Vitis is produced along the west coast of Sicily, between Petrosino and Mazara del Vallo. This area is characterized by deep soils rich in organic matter, which is ideal for viticulture. For hundreds of years, Italy's best wines have been aged in large tuns rather than small oak barrels. This traditional art of winemaking ensures slow micro-oxygenation of the wine. Lignum Vitis is a perfect example of the refined complexity that this type of aging brings.
