About this winery
It is Serge’s trust for his wines, rooted in history and Lebanese terroir, that has led them to light the way for the natural wine movement. He would say: ‘My wines are natural. Product notes
Château Musar white 2008 has an intense golden color. On the nose, complex aromas of orange peel, peach blossom, lemon and pear can be detected. On the palate, the wine emanates notes of stone fruits with a return to orange zest, all enhanced by the charming scent of toasted almond. Through its fat and smooth texture, it is supported by a fresh acidity and an impressive length ending on an aroma of beeswax.
Production notes
Château Musar's white wines are unique, produced from old vines located in one of the oldest sites in the wine world and dating back to 5000 BC, although it was the Phoenicians who first "introduced" Lebanese wine to the commercial markets of the Mediterranean. The ancient indigenous grape varieties Obaideh and Merwah, reputed to be the ancestors of Chardonnay and Semillon, are still cultivated from ungrafted vines on the original rootstock. The sloping vineyards face the sea of Mount Lebanon and the foothills of Anti-Lebanon. The vines are between 50 and 90 years old and are 1,200 meters above sea level.
